on the morning of december 22, 2021, nantong zhonglan engineering plastics co., ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its 56,000 t/a high-performance composite materials project at the site of the nantong xingchen phase-ii project. present at the groundbreaking ceremony were wang xiaohong, member of the party working committee and deputy director of the management committee of nantong economic development zone, and zhao fei, director of the economic operation department of nantong economic development bureau. pang xiaolin, party secretary, chairman and general manager of nantong xingchen, and the company’s leadership team and departmental employees attended the ceremony.
wang xiaohong congratulated the project’s groundbreaking ceremony, saying that nantong zhonglan’s new composite materials project is of great significance to boost the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the development zone. the development zone will take the economic development bureau and the enterprise development service center as the platform to provide the best quality service for the project construction and enterprise development, so that enterprises can enjoy a safe, pro-business environment for their development. it is hoped that the new and original projects will achieve clustering development and emerge as a new model of circular economy.
pang xiaolin expressed his appreciation for the care and support given by the economic development zone’s management committee and all relevant departments. he pointed out that 2021 is the first year of the 14th five-year plan, and nantong xingchen will implement the concept of “in science we trust and we should practice what we advocate”. in the next five years, we will work hard to achieve the strategic goal of 10 billion yuan and become a new material solution provider with international competitiveness to enable the company to lead the industry, satisfy customers, make employees happier and achieve sustainable development. nantong xingchen needs to be stronger to better the engineering plastics industry and realize the high-quality development of the upstream and downstream business. the company will hold fast to the bottom line of safety and environmental protection, strictly control the project links, speed up the construction, and strive for early completion, early operation and early benefits to contribute to the healthy development of nantong development zone.
nantong zhonglan’s composite materials project is highly invested by nantong xingchen according to its 14th five-year plan. the project is located at no. 69, tongsheng south road, nantong economic and technological development zone (within the phase-ii park of nantong xingchen’s factory), enjoying convenient transport, significant location advantages and complete supporting facilities. with the investment totaling 518 million yuan, it is expected to achieve annual operating revenue of 920 million yuan. after completion, the total capacity of the company’s modified engineering plastics will amount to 86,000 t/a.
the project team has upheld the philosophy of “in science we trust”. after a fully preliminary demonstration, the team has relied on the company’s 20-plus-year experience in engineering plastics and adopted self-developed technology, boasting multiple lines for products such as polybutylene terephthalate (pbt) and polyphenylene ether (ppe). the project is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in the second half of 2023, which will help further enhance nantong xingchen’s capabilities for quality assurance, application and r&d and rapid delivery.
